  • Bel Aire Fall Festival and Annual Talent Contest in October:   

Activities for the Fall Festival include a Car Show, an Ice Cream Social, food vendors, and many kid's activities, disc golf activities and prizes.  A Bouncy House will also be available for the kids. . A live Band will also perform for the Fall Festival.

Talent Show is open to anyone with talent and contestants do not need to be a Bel Aire resident.  Many great prizes are given away including cash prizes for the top 5 contestants. Grand prize winner will receive $150.00 cash and a FREE limo ride. The talent show is open to all ages! 

  • Annual Hot Dawg's Pool Party!

FREE Door Prizes and more Prizes for 5 dog competitions, including smallest dog, largest dog, hairiest dog, best trickster dog and best dressed dog! Come Hungry! 2 Food vendors will serve food, beverages and more! Last year, over 300 people attended and 125 dogs! We are thrilled to bring this event back in your backyard here in our Community Pool!

BEL AIRE HISTORY

Bel Aire is one of the newest cities in Kansas. Formed as an Improvement District of Sedgwick County in 1955, Bel Aire began as a collection of sub-divisions. The Pearson and Arthur Heights Additions were the first incorporated into the improvement district followed by Bel Aire Village and Bel Aire Heights in the 1970’s. Growth of Bel Aire has always been driven by a sense of community and independence.

Bel Aire was incorporated as a city on November 26, 1980 following a Kansas Supreme Court decision. The seal of the City exemplifies the sense of community, stating the City was, “Established by the Will of Its Citizens.” Growth through Bel Aire’s early stages remained constant as additional residential housing and businesses located to the city. Bel Aire added nearly 100 homes per year through the 1990’s, moving from a starting population of 100 in 1955 to over 6,700 current residents.

Expansion continues today as new residential homes and businesses continue to locate in Bel Aire. Despite the high number of new residents moving to the city, a strong sense of community and common purpose still resonates within Bel Aire. Our motto, “City of the Future with Respect for Its Past” rings true today.
